Britishvolt has secured £1.7 billion in funding from Abrdn, Tritax and the government's Automotive Transformation Fund to build a new battery manufacturing plant in Blyth, Northumberland. The gigafactory is expected to create 3,000 direct jobs. :upvote:
I knew I'd heard something on the news I intended to mention. Yes there may be a silver lining.
I heard that too.. Excellent news for a change..
I believe it was on the cards months ago when the electric cars company was set up. Having the batteries made near by made good sense.
Some More Good News.
You've probably read it, but Ferry company Stena Line has entered a £100m 50 year agreement with Associated British Ports (ABP) to jointly develop a new freight terminal at the Port of Immingham, a move which the two organisations said would boost the economy and create jobs. It doesn't say how many new jobs, but a new freight terminal has to be good news.
I had to check with Google Maps as I wasn't sure but yes excellent news. That traffic won't involve Calais and the bloody French
Yes great news, and helps leveling up UK.
