Quote from: klondike on Today at 11:24:51 AMThe US law is a lot different from here and shotguns are a popular choice for home defence there. Here they have to be kept in locked cabinets, ammunition separate and the minimum barrel length of 24 inches makes them an unwieldy weapon at close quarters.

This is the bonus of a crossbow which doesn't have to be kept locked in a cabinet & can be kept preloaded with the bolts.

And which is why I'm still seriously considering buying one before they become banned from sale.

At the moment, as I've already posted about, I do have an LEP/LED combi flashlight.

I keep it set on low power flood mode but I only have to press the button for two seconds & both the LED floodlight & the LEP laser spotlight will change to full power.

The only way of avoiding permanent blindness is to turn your back.

And here. ☔️  I'm in town having a coffee before I meet my daughter and family for food.  OH opted to stay home and watch the snooker.

I thought we had a thread about Khan and his third term, but I can't find it.  Anyway, I think he will be re-elected, but Twatter is rife with people saying he will lose because muslims won't vote due to Labour's lack of support for Gaza.

Maybe wishful thinking for the Twatterati, but if true, wouldn't it be a turn up for the book ?

I think the police-woman yesterday was magnificent, especially as another officer had his hand virtually chopped off in front of her. We should only keep Tazers for auxilliary use. All officers should be armed as they are here and throughout Europe. A crazed terrorist with a sword can charge a Tazered officer and still kill even if hits it's target. At close range like yesterday the maniac, who'd already killed a poor little chap needed stopping with a pistol powerful enough to kill with one round. Thus other officers and citizens are not at risk for the sake of appeasing the wokes. This is now a changed world, irreversibly and exponentially violent.
