My daughter Marnie voted Leave..
She has since changed her mind and is now a Remainer..
She is a pain in the arse.. Blaming everything on Brexit.
Covid.. Ukraine war.. heatwave.. are not to blame for anything.. Only Brexit..

.. and I gave birth to her.
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Well Brexit is a god-send for anyone who can't / won't use any intellectual effort to deduce the actual reason for events.

Obviously your fault then...

Best to keep schtumb IMO. Political discussions are best kept outside the family IMO.
Buy her a head torch for the coming power cuts.
One of these for the heatwave too..

You know it makes sense

I never discuss politics with any of my family.. I am not knowledgeable enough for that.. and those that are.. or think they are.. are not the sort of company I sit down with..

A bit like all these politicians who are now spouting off about what should/should have been   done..
It seems that everyone knows what is best... for others.. But thinking only of themselves..

Certainly knowing what needed to be done is a whole lot easier than knowing what needs to be done...

My son is a Leaver like me, DIL on the other hand is a Remainer so it's not discussed   Although sometimes she comes out with things like the UK economy is worse than other European countries and quoted some percentage, I can't respond because I can't bloody remember statistics !

Scrumpy

I don't remember stuff either..
I don't respond to any remarks made.. Just my usual (blank) look.. Which I know irritates her..

If you really want to annoy her give her one of those damned hats

Watch what is happening in Europe. The shit will be hitting the fan big time in Germany come winter and the Dutch farmers have been protesting the EU plans to shut them down for months now. Mind you things won't be rosy here either but at least we only have one set of politicians making things worse not two.

I voted to leave and I don't regret doing that one iota.
The only problems we now face are not as a result of Brexit, but due to our politicians and civil service making idiotic decisions and failing to face up to what really needs to be done.

Examples:
- Delaying the inevitable need for fracking and oil/gas extraction in the North Sea.
- Refusing to repatriate illegal immigrants.
- Allowing the NHS leaders to continue their continued expansion of bureaucracy at the expense of providing healthcare and the facilities for that.

There are many other stupid changes that have been made, such as smart motorways and HS2, but I really don't have time to create a list several pages long!

Remaining now means remaining out of the e.u. in theory.

I agree..
But some of the Remainers can't deal with that and hope that someday we will all see sense and return , once more, into this wonderful group that the UK desperately needs in order to survive..

There were people like that in the late-1930s too.
