So, there are complaints about overcrowding and filth at McAllen immigrant detention centre.. :boo:
Shame.. Perhaps we could accommodate them in our holiday camps.. I am sure there will be available spaces seeing as many are struggling to pay their bills.. and unable to afford holidays.. They can be entertained by the clowns from Westminster..
Do they not realise that the overcrowding is caused by them.. far too many arriving..
Cheeky buggers.. .. Unfortunately they are listened to..
I am seething!
Maybe we could hire cruise ships instead?
Quote from: klondike on October 31, 2022, 01:08:28 PMMaybe we could hire cruise ships instead?
As suggested by a bloke on the telly recently.
Old cruise ships could be stationed in international waters in the Channel.
The Border Farce would continue to collect the illegal dinghy boys, but offload them on to the cruise ship.
There they stay whilst a suitable number are collected, and whilst their claims could be assessed, but importantly they would not have set foot on our land.
When the majority are determined to have no claim of asylum, they are transported to the country of their origin or, if they refuse to admit which it is, they can be taken to any third-world country that will accept them.
If no-one volunteers, they can be returned to their dinghies and set free at a sufficiently remote part of the Atlantic just outside French territorial waters!
works for me!
I'm listening to the response to Suella Braverman's statement to the House just now, reference the invasion of the UK by the tide of illegal immigrants in Kent.
The Liberal/Labour MP bedwetters want the boat people to have better hotels faster, despite already costing £6.8m every day! Then another berk, probably SNP apologising to the crazed fire-setter's family yesterday, because he committed suicide. Starmer half-brain season ticket holder, Dianne Abbott joined in wanting them processed faster with an accompanying 95% success rate! She then demanded better hotels and overall conditions in the interim. All this whilst they are emptying the pockets of British citizens, both legally and illegally and likewise invading their property?
Are they mad, or just out of touch in their little go gooder bubbles! Watch the useless fools lose their huge 'poll leads' for this out of touch rubbish!
I've heard a solution I liked the sound of  For every hundred dinghy boys who arrive on our shores, the French lose one fishing licence

Sounds good to me. 👍

The Liberals and Labour have one thing in common, well, two things actually.
They are both desperate for votes and are hopeful that if they can ensure more (illegal) immigrants being given the right to live here (and the right to vote), their political support will increase immeasurably!
The second thing is that they are (like reusable johnnies) a bit thick.
Unfortunately, there are many, especially in the 'red wall', who share that latter personality and so are likely to vote Labour in 2024. Perhaps they just have short memories.

Excellent idea.
I'm sure that they might just make a little effort to avoid turning a blind eye to the constant departures from their shores. After all, there are now so many and departing so frequently that I can't imagine how they can insist that they are unaware of them!
Of course, they're French!
Quote from: JBR on October 31, 2022, 07:37:36 PMPerhaps they just have short memories.
The last Labour government ended 12 years back and their fiscal uselessness was screened by the banking collapse. It's not a case of short memories. Most of the electorate are simply not old enough to have clearly seen the mess they make of the job.

   Idiots.. They are so stupid they don't realise that the public are 'Fed up'.. 'Pissed off'.. with illegals INVADING our shores.. and it is the public who will elect our next government..
Braverman told it like it is and she got 'booed' for it.. Booed by the 'do gooders' and the opposition.. and the press..
She is the only one with the guts to speak her mind.. Spineless lot..
Suella Braverman just needs to remember not to piss in the wrong place at the wrong time & she'll be ok, because , make no mistake Suella, just as the corrupt Civil Service, misfit MPs & the media got rid of Boris because of his trivial errors, they'll all try to do the same to you.
Keep your friends close.. and your enemies even closer...
Unfortunately Today's 'friends' can be tomorrow's 'enemy'.

Exactly. Well put.
her use of the term invaders led some pious twit from the opposition lecturing her that he would 'never demonise people'. If they aren't invading us, just what are they doing?

And if that doesn't help, make it 10 yachtsmen to one licence.
And then 10 licences to each illegal invader.

Yes, I believe that the present Conservative government, or at least the majority of them, are particularly stupid in thinking only of themselves and failing to realise how many votes they are losing.
I have heard that Braverman has been criticised soundly by the opposition, but also by some of her own party.
Yet another reason why the Conservatives are very likely to lose the next GE simply due to their own behaviour and, in effect, pulling apart from each other because they have now split into various different factions.

I wondered how unlikely the bookies thought they were to win. I'd have put them at close to 10:1 but the odds are surprisingly much better than that. I found it heartening the the LibDems are down on the likes of Lawrence Fox's Reclaim Party

I was wrong. That comment I mentioned was from one of her own side!
May I suggest Patrick Jenrick, a Remoaner of course who sat behind Braverman whist she addressed the house without a gesture of support for her. Later on the BBC of course saying that wouldn't "demonise people" and refusing to endorse her very accurate description of an 'invasion'.
A second rate nasty little turd polisher, from the class of Gove. He also has a facial expression suggesting he permanently needs a damn good shite.
Poor England in the hands of such selfish scheming globalist clappers.
Probably a Guardian reader to boot - and how I'd love to boot him!
Mike
I heard that Matt Hancock has lost the Tory whip as he intends to bugger off to Australia for I'm a Celebrity get me out of here. With any luck in a couple of years they'll be putting on a special - I was a Tory Cabinet Minister and I'm already out of there. Useless tossers all.
I don't know if it was any different in earlier times when MPs were not paid, but today it's quite a lucrative career. The career politician is a lazy animal, he joins a party most likely to get him elected, puts himself forward at every opportunity, maybe gets employment in a political capacity, and eventually gets the nomination he covets. Eventually we end up with nearly 650 useless self serving hypocrites and just over half to form a government. Many of them have only ever studied politics and have never worked outside politics. Far from giving us a deep pool of talent we have a shallow puddle of talent at best that have not had to face the realities of life for many years.
I agree klondike, but some of the MPs who have had a tougher life do themselves no favours either when they have some success. Angela Rayner is a prime example.
I think you were actually agreeing with what Ashy posted Mac but I could easily have said the same thing as it is self evidently true.
Sunak was groomed from the top from the start, how many candidates are given a safe seat like Richmond first off? I said to my husband quite a few years ago, this bugger is a chosen one and will be our PM one day. He is put in place to deliver the globalist agenda.

Yeah, you're right. Sorry Ash.
There are two concepts which, in combination, make our party political system toxic to us in my opinion.
1. The safe constituency;
2. The career politician.
The safe constituency means the incumbent has a well paid job for life, and the career politician is singularly ill equipped to represent anyone but themselves.
Just my opinion of course. Proportional list systems are probably worse as the names at the top of the list are safe. I don't know what the solution is.
The French worked out a mechanism for disposing of a bunch of useless self serving parasites towards the end of the eighteenth century....

Disappointing about the minor parties like Reform and UKIP.
As I have said many times, they would benefit from uniting under a single banner. They could provide a united front to the public and be more able to stand (as one party) under more, possibly all, constituencies.
Nevertheless, I am resolved to vote for Reform despite the predicted 'wasted vote'. Even if my vote counted for nothing, I should at least have a clear conscience.
Those who continue to vote for Labour or the Tories will have no-one but themselves to blame for the inevitable consequences!
