I just read a post on FB where the poster was ponting out that too many folk if they dont get their own way 'Take the Huff'.... lol... the old fashioned way of doing a flounce....
can you remember any other 'old' sayings that we never hear today?

here in Yorshire they have a weird saying.... 'Get the monk on'.... as in getting the monkey on yer back...
i will stop digging that one...lol

you're welcome? Thank you? Please? Me being cynical. We had a thread on this sort of thing a good few months ago, and I can't remember who was involved, but a saying I hadn't heard in decades - but some had fairly recently 'Well! I'll go to the foot of our stairs!'

Yes we have that on here too. As in "Yon mon's geet monk on."  :smiley:
