Matt Handcock backing Rishi, I wonder why? he has no chance of a job with Liz same goes for other Rishi MP backers.

Matt Handcock must carry nearly as much influence as Tone Bliar.

Another name from the past. The number of talentless idiots in the Tory party is truly amazing. No wonder our next PM is going to be either Truss or Sunak. Doubtless followed by Starmer as even the Tories have insufficient time to fit in another no hoper before the election.

If John Major can survive one general election I think Miss Trust will, unless she is the real disaster sans bicycle seat. Despite her obvious lack of conviction she does seem to have a bit of common sense and the queen will like having someone different to chat to of a Friday.

Liz was not my first choice but I strongly feel, Liz will do a good job. She has had many jobs and quietly got on with doing them. Her team will have many new faces I believe, with few if any on the front bench at the moment

The problem is there are only a couple of years til the next election. The country is heading up shit creek in top gear with immigration, inflation and probably energy shortages and  recession all requiring some urgent attention.

If Ms. Truss manages to fix that lot I will be amazed. It doesn't matter that Starmer can't either. Whoever is in charge will be who gets the blame.

Currently the nation's PM who begged to be left in charge is being filmed  in a foreign supermarket buying his groceries.

If there is a common factor to all our ills it will be simplest to tackle that.

klondike

I think the common factor to all our ills is probably politicians...

Alex

I'd say the common factor is too many people and not just here in UK.

Scrumpy

I'd say the common factor is ..... Umm! Umm!

I agree, but I live in hope that Truss might just, possibly, be another Thatcher - more sensible and stronger than most men!

Also, although I agree with your 'talentless idiots in the Tory party' comment earlier, I'd like to think that a small number remain who could do an excellent job as PM, especially JRM, though of course he seems to have the good sense not to want to become the next PM!

The current PM vacancy is a poisoned chalice. There is, imo anyway, little chance that the Tories will win the next election which means the party leadership will change again soon after the election.

There is though one major benefit - all PMs get a lifetime pension. Does it give everybody a nice warm feeling inside knowing that we are all still paying the lack lustre wankers that have held the job in the past. Warm feeling. I'm bloody seething.

Raven

I didn't know that. Why should they get special treatment, especially when they've made a right royal mess of things. Sheeezze.  :yell:
