Title: Holidays
Post by: Sheila on May 26, 2022, 09:52:09 AM
My passport had expired so I applied for a new one and it arrived within two weeks and is a BRITISH one.  Paul is jealous.

We are not as brave as crabbyob although we would love to go back to India. We are looking at Cyprus, maybe at the beginning of October but I don't want to book it yet.  We lost money when out last holiday was cancelled so I am a bit wary.

My passport ran out in 2020 and I didn't renew it.  I don't think I'll be going abroad again which is sad, but I can't cope with the airport hassle any more, plus walking is more of a problem than it was in 2020.

I went to Cyprus a good few years ago, Paphos was lovely, but there were so many poor street dogs, it really upset me.

It's so expensive to holiday in UK though Scrumpy, cheaper to get a package to Spain !  Plus the way we're going, there won't be any hotels left in some areas, they're housing dinghy boys.

I am lucky that I am not a sun person.. I don't sit in the sun..I don't think that I have ever been to Spain.. I much prefer Italy..
If I win the lottery.. BIG time.. We will renew our passports..travel somewhere in style and enjoy just looking around.. without walking.. !!

I prefer Italy too and if I win the lottery I will also renew and travel first class,  avoiding Easyjet like the plague

If I win I will pay for a holiday for all.

One slight hitch being I don't buy lottery tickets...

Mine expired a while ago and i'm in no hurry to renew it. Give me the West coast of Scotland or Cornwall any day!

Loved Sorrento and the Amalfi coast, and our son got married in Venice, I'd like to visit again. Our passports are still valid, but we're unlikely to use them.

No expectation of ever going abroad again, so I let my passport expire last year

Same here, I only went once and the bloody performance at airports put me right off. Never again.  :yell:

Went to my brother's funeral in 2018 - Stansted -what a bloody dump. He was CEO of a shipping consortium, retiring in 2005, and before he retired used to go all over the world, often starting from Stansted - they only lived 15 miles away - after he retired, came up to us a few times and couldn't believe what had been, in his words 'a nice little airport' had became a glorified cattle shed
