Title: Hunt in charge?
Post by: Michael Rolls on October 16, 2022, 04:05:05 AM
So, after two days in number 11, Hunt has totally demolished the fiscal plans that got Truss into number 10. There are disaffected backbenchers hoping to persuade Sir Graham Brady, the chairman of the 1922 committee, to change the rules on appointing a leader, which currently do not allow a fresh challenge in under 12 months. Unnamed ex-ministers and ex-Cabinet ministers are being quoted in the media as saying that Truss cannot survive.
Chaos!

The party doesn't deserve to survive let alone Truss or any of the others.

Some commentators on TV today gave her a week.
Let's face it Hunt is in charge now, so how on earth did she think appointing him would be a good move ?  I don't want to think about any conditions he may have demanded before accepting the job.

I think the spoof brigade will have a field day. This affair makes the Tories an even bigger laughing stock.

Following the sacking of Kwasi Kwarteng by Liz Truss for the idiotic mistake of being her chancellor, Jeremy Hunt has been given the post as reward for losing two leadership contests for being unpopular and crap.

A Conservative backbencher said: "Jeremy is a moderate and a safe pair of hands, as long as you don't remember anything that he did between 2010 and 2019.

Any bets on when Starmer will be measuring up for curtains? Will we have yet another lame duck government for the next two years. The lunatics are now officially in charge of the asylum.

I think it's time the Tories moved over & let Labour clear up the shit.

After all, fair's fair, since up to now it's always been the Tories who've cleared up Labour's shit.

As you well know the chances of Starmer fixing any of the enormous problems facing the country are slim indeed I hate to think what will happen when not if he takes the reigns. We are heading for an economic and social disaster. The only difference this time is that it wasn't Labour that caused it.

I know, but what fun it'll be watching people squeal when things get far worse than they are now.

But as we both know, the current problems are centred around the Tory Mafia & the media wanting to get rid of the Tory membership's chosen leader.

Hunt & Peston looked like besties when Peston gave him a very tame interview.

Hunt's already said that taxes will rise & public spending will fall & that the energy price cap will be scrapped altogether after April 2024, but there hasn't been any media uproar.
