Title: Oscars winner Everything Everywhere All at Once
Post by: klondike on March 13, 2023, 10:52:45 AM
I'm not usually fussed by the Oscars but this year's runaway winner with 7 including Best Picture had an intriguing title "Everything Everywhere All at Once" so I checked it out on IMDB ..

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6710474/

A middle-aged Chinese immigrant is swept up into an insane adventure in which she alone can save existence by exploring other universes and connecting with the lives she could have led.

So SciFi. I often like SciFi stuff. OK it can't be a white male hero (or even female) these days but I can live with that, it's available from the Emprium so I've grabbed it and will probably give it a go tonight. If it is crap I can bin it and go back to watching the variety of ancient TV fare that has been my main entertainment for quite some time. That's the advantage of sourcing viewing from the Emporium.

It had a high IMDB rating and did very well at the Oscars. Perhaps it is me that was wrong. Don't let my reaction put anybody off giving it a go.

I didn't really fancy this, I know it won so many awards but those Hollywood bashes are fixed anyway aren't they ?

If anybody does watch it I'd be interested to know if they made it further than me or actually enjoyed it. I liked the sound of the plot as I do like SciFi that isn't just cowboys in space.

I like decent films, what I can't stand is the lovies giving each other gongs at the Oscars and Baftas, "I want to thank my mother, my therapist, next doors dog" etc. can't stand to watch them.
