I got the valid and almost right but wrong answer twice that you can get in wordle 

I'm not fond of nerdle. If I don't finish it before I fancy a coffee I paste in wordle and quordle and there is a good chance I won't bother with it that day.

I did try a different tactic. It could be chance that it worked out better, it could have been an easy one or it may have been luck. 

I sorted out my wordle/quordle to make it as easy for me as I could - I usually beat both but my scores are never spectacular - I sorted out 3 words that cover the most frequently used letters. That will usually give me wordle in 4 or 5 and quordle as 4 5 6 7 or ideally a biggest of 8. I don't put much thought in until those words are in. Some days it can still be a struggle but most there is no stress.

I haven't played nerdle enough to figure out the best tactic for a stress free solution and all of them so far including today's took me longer than the other two combined.

I'm a user of random start words, usually with three vowels. I often use the same word for Quordle as Wordle. Your method is probably more guaranteed not to fail?

As for Nerdle! I use any numbers that compute for the first entry, no idea if there are any methods in use.  Tried Binerdle again yesterday, gave up on line three..but managed it today. 🙂
