With todays news of tony Blair getting a knight hood, for what ??
poking his fingers i just about everywhere, where they're not wanted,

i don't think he is that well liked,?  but he is certainly full of his own opinions, and when he comes out with statements as if he is still the prime minister
i wonder who he thinks is really listening to his thoughts,

do you think that gongs are thrown everywhere except where they are needed and titles don't mean very much to people , except real people who have done wonderous things like saving lives and really genuinely helping others,

Q;  what do you think, and what are your thoughts,

Not sure if this is when peerages get dished out too but there are certainly far too many of those. Thet shouldnt really be appointments but oif that is going to continue a fixed number and fixed tenure are surelt easy to legislate in - just a short amendment cosisting of a few clauses should be enough. Of couse kicking the deadwood out that is there now might prove to be a problem.

If anyone should get gongs and titles, it should go to  nurses and doctors who have worked on the Covid wards during this pandemic, and how about essential workers i.e supermarket staff  keeping the country going and  not shirking from home.  Sportspeople, slimy Blair, Vanessa Redgrave,  but she is a red why would she want to be a dame? Where is these socialists socialism?

These awards mean nothing with the sorts that receive them and if the recipients had any decency they would decline them.

TREBOR

I would add all the unknown lab people who worked on the vaccines and all the volunteers who are manning the walk in centers which were open right through the holiday.

Since, in my analysis, Blair is high up on the sociopath / psychopath spectrum, he will believe that not only does he deserve his Knighthood, he's likely to believe that he deserves it more than any other recipient.

361,252 have signed. Let's get to 500,000!

I do so hope this goes up and up. Beyond the million mark. Must be on Facebook and/or Twitter to go this far and once it gets this high it will just keep on rising.

In line with my not very inspired prediction here just after it was announced that the old brown stuff would be on a collision course with the fan.

Looks like he could have got a role as a deatheater in Harry Potter in that pic.

GrannyMac. I too am pleased that the youngsters got a recognition.. The young boy who slept in a tent in the garden was a delight..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

So many ordinary people being modestly heroic and worth a hundred of the arse-kissing sycophants that usually profit from these 'appointments'.

I dont think the petition can stop "Sir Tony" from getting his award as it is in the personal gift of the sovereign. But it does send a clear message of public opinion. I just completed a poll on YouGov chat and 53% were against this award. 74% were in favour of Joanna Lumley getting her damehood.

I agree about Joanna - very richly deserved. As for Blair - pass the puke bag

It seems that close on 700k folk agree with you enough to have signed the petition. It will make the million for sure as there is little sign of signings petering out.

Buy your email addresses here. Remember folks vote early vote often

Will this stop the man poking his nose into current national affairs? Don't count on it.
