If I can ask, of the new tv series', what's everybody watching? Anyone tried 'The Tourist'?
I've been off TV of late. Possibly dropping the licence is the reason that so I've mostly been watching Amazon Prime lately. I will be interested to hear what gets recommended though - more stuff to download and add to the terrabytes of stuff I've downloaded and not got around to watching.
I watched part one of "Anne" on ITV catch up, the story of one ordinary Mum who took on the British establishment. For me it was heart breaking to watch and not a programme you could ' binge' watch. Part 2 I'll watch tonight.
i thoroughly enjoy watching Yellowstone, and the main actress in it is fabulous
Kelly Reiley from England has been added to my wish list at 45 she is 'lustfull'
and i dont often go for older women....ok i will get my coat... :cowboy:
Where are you watching Yellowstone crabbyob ? I saw the first couple of series on Ch. 5 and thought it was really good, but then Kevin Costner would be good in anything
i'm afraid its on 'myTV' and is ongoing, i will have a look on Netflix too just incase
i watched the latest episode last night...
There's two new series starting this month I think they're on ITV, One them has some of the cast from Line Of Duty in it, looks good. I can't remember the name of either of the darn things now, think the cold has frozen what passes for my brain. :embarrassed:
I'll post the names here when I can remember.

I'm a big fan of Yellowstone and Costner (always have been) so I thought I'd enjoy the prequel, '1883' and I was right. Anyone started it? It's Yellowstone before there was a Yellowstone and the story of it's discovery by settlers etc and Costner's father/grandfather.. Excellent.
We have so many programmes on our Sky Planner that it almost feels like homework to watch them! We have Netflix and I subscribe to Amazon Prime, but in all honestly watch very little from these platforms. I have a note to watch Tender Bar (Netflix, from 7th Jan) and The Grand Tour (Prime, now), but really have to restrict recording/watching too many new series.

After seeing the chat I took a trip to Zoony's Video Emporium and seasons 1 to 4 are available there. I grabbed them earler when I saw mention of them. No idea when I'll watch 'em though.
Remembered the names of the new Series on ITV for this month.
Series 2 of "The Bay" and "Triggerpoint"
Vicky McClure and Adrian Lester star in Triggerpoint, a six part thriller written by newcomer Daniel Brierly and produced by Jed Mercurio. The drama turns the spotlight on counter terrorism policing and the extraordinary work of the Metropolitan Police Bomb Disposal Squad.
It seems to me that whenever I watch one of Mercurio's 'hits', it's full of men with men so I avoid 'em and him..
Soon to be compusary viewing :nooo:
Not on my screens mate.
New series of Call the Midwife started last Sunday, and new episodes of Vera starting next week. I have the Tourist on record, I can't say I like many of the new series coming out but give them a go, often don't carry on watching after the first episode.

Tsk tsk all those electrons going to waste. Think of the planet.
I'm enjoying The Tourist more than I expected. I mean, amnesic stranger lost in the Outback.. Not a huge amount one can do with that but fair play to the writer(s), I'm on episode 4 and still intrigued. The story is being very nicely told..
Around The World In 80 Days? What was wrong with telling the original, charming and funny story that Jules Verne wrote!? Unrecognizable, woke tripe is what we got. At least we still have David Niven's brilliant 1956 version which, for me, will remain the definitive one. I'd make every kid over 10 who watched this steaming pile of ordure read the blasted book! [1090]
Around the World in 80 days was one of my watch the first episode then no more. Quite agree with you Zoony, load of rubbish, not a patch on the David Nivan version.
Ive been watchin "The Crown" again from episode one. I also watched the whole of "The Handmaids Tale" again.
There is a wonderful series called "Motherland" about competition among school mums to be top of the heap.
Trebor, are you watching the Crown on Netflix? don't think you can get it anywhere else can you?

We're watching it too, and enjoying it. Also watching Four Lives, based on a real killer, Stephen Port. Decided not to watch 'Anne' as mentioned by Alex. The topic is very emotive locally still, and used to be the focus if much discussion on a local forum.
Finished The Tourist last night Mac.. and it didn't disappoint.
Good to know. We're watching on terrestrial so no spoilers please! [1150]
 As if I would.
I know, but others may...
Is that the one where an airliner crashes in the last episode killing them all?
That's the one!

Secrets of the Salisbury Poisonings is on Prime Video at the moment. On my watchlist to see asap.
I may take a break and give that a look. I didn't think there were any secrets left tbh. I recall a docudrama that covered a lot of it - I don't thnk that was the name though.

Temporarily foiled. It's available through Prime but wants a Discovery sub.
In pretty sure that the one named just Salisbury Poisinings available in Zoony's Video Emporium is the dodu drama I've already seen. Will have to check the stock situation a little later.
About to watch the highlights of day 2 of the fourth Test
Mike
Most disorienting..I'm watching a new Midsomer Murders and Inspector Lewis just turned up..But it's Kevin Whately just playing a regular part.. Disconcerting to say the least!
Apropos of nowt, I was wondering how they might give Sgt Hathaway his own 'Inspector' series, as is their wont, and it occurred to me that it might be a cunning plan to have him relocate to Cambridge for his promotion?.. What think ye?

Never he's far to unwoke for ITV and Cambridge Wokegrad never. I reckon Lawrence Fox is finished on British TV the'll cancel him now!
I think you will find that Sgt Hathaway (Laurence Fox) has been cancelled by the wokistas in the TV and Movie business (ie just about all of them) You'll only see him on repeats and they are likely to be pulled to satisfy the baying mob.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8947075/Laurence-Fox-DROPPED-acting-agent-phone-call.html
Plus plenty more.
*** SNAP ***
Well, I like his acting and the character he portrays while having no time for the woke bollocks being used to beat people with these days so I guess I lose. It's like the blasted McCarthy era!!
I thought I'd heard right when he was interviewed over here about a new part he was going to accept because everyone else in the Woke had blanked him.
Playing Sleepy Joe's son - the great winner 'Hunter' no less!
Amazingly this was in the wretched Guardian the Woke's 'go to' Yellow Pages on who to hate, when and where :ugh:
 Aye.. And this too shall pass..
Seems to be getting worse to me rather than better.
I liked Laurance Fox in Lewis and hoped there would be a spin off for Inspector Hathaway, but looks like there is no chance. I don't see what poor Laurence did that was so wrong.
Zoony is right, we will be having McCarthy type panels soon to see who is Woke enough and worthy before any job is given to anyone at all. You must think the correct way and if they find just one word out of place recorded anywhere you may as well shoot yourself, as your working life will be over.
 You're not a million miles from right Jaqc.. It is SO tiresome! Every time you turn on a new drama there's a mixed couple in the middle of it, lesbian or straight, for no reason but to try and 'normalize' a forced stereotype?..
I have Sky TV as we can't get much on Freeview here, I don't watch enough films to pay extra to get Sky Movies its another £11 a month. But I did want Netflix so I can watch the Crown but that was another £5 a month. Anyway, went onto Sky to see about Broadband deals and found I can get Netflix for free!!!!!! (well nothing is free, I pay a packet anyway).
Last night watched three episodes of Series 3 of the Crown (bought 1 & 2 on DVD off ebay) will keep us going for a while.

That was my mistake (I thought it was on Prime). We watched it last night, on Discovery+ . This comes with our Sky subs offer at no extra cost - as does Netflix. A most interesting programme.
Not to worry. I don't doubt that it will soon be stocked by Zoony's
Anyone recommend a series for me on either Netflix or Prime ? I'm at a loss now I've finished watching Bosch  I like detectives, preferably US series.
I used to enjoy 'Person Of Interest' Alex and there's plenty to go at and on a very different level there's 'Murdoch Mysteries' which is Canadian.. I rather prefer the Brit ones generally as I'm not a huge fan of car chases and shoot-outs..
I don't have those, but I used to love Rizolli and Isles it's a great detective series. You may find it on either of your choices.

Rather have handsome detectives Raven
Then look for Grimm. Lots of hunks, adventure, and good story lines. Very different but excellent.
