It was a difficult day yesterday for me, it was the first anniversary of losing my precious Dageus. It doesn't seem like a year has passed already. But it has, thought it would be getting easier by now, but no.  :worried:

oh dear, Raven. As you say, doesn't seem possible that a year has passed already. I know I still miss Fleur every day even after more the six years
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me

Time has gone so quickly, it doesn't seem like a year.  Hope you're ok Raven.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Not a good day for you but it's good that you do have so many memories and those lovely photos.

Dageus... What a handsome boy he was.. He certainly won my heart...
Raven.. You were very lucky to have him as a best friend.. Of course it's painful...
Think of all the lovely memories he left you with.. x
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Lovely Dageus, hard to believe a year has passed.  They leave a hole in our heart when they're gone and we never stop missing them,   He was special.

Mups

He was a big handsome boy wasn't he.

Poor you, Raven - hugs.
All us animal lovers will know what it's like to lose them,  but he will stay in your heart forever, and nothing can change that.  x

I feel the same, time is not a healer & each year is another year without them.

Make every day count, each day is precious.

I hate dogs! Ever since leaving the military I have had a dog, they break your heart when they leave and you say, ' I am not having another, I can't hack the pain' but you do, and the new gets inside you, loving you unconditionally and causes more pain.
My thoughts are with you Raven I still feel the loss of my last Yorkie.

Ah Raven they take your heart and then they leave .😢

My beautiful, loyal, gentle and loving boy here, was the love of my life.   I bred him myself.
He never left my side. We were inseparable.

He came in from the garden one evening, and collapsed, as quick as that.  He died in my arms before the vet even got to us.  We suspected it was his heart.

For the next 3 weeks after his left me,  I was getting pains in my chest.  It will sound crazy to anyone else,  but at the time I thought he was trying to take me with him.
It hurts so much when we lose them.

I can understand your feelings, Mups, having having had the deaths of two cats during our marriage, each of which upset me to tears.  We now have two more and I know I shall be equally upset when either or both go.
If it is of any reassurance, the upsetting feelings will pass eventually.

Thanks Michael, JBR and Scrumps.
He was a huge lad,  but incedibly gentle.  he would wash tiny 4 wk old kittens, let baby chicks run all over him,  yet looked after me like a bodyguard.   I will always love him.
