Well done Scrumpy. Most are struggling with this one from what I see elsewhere.

We use the same start word every time.. Until someone in the group decides to change it..

It's obviously a good one as you've had consistent low scores.

I think I need to revert to my starter(s) before I started Quordle as I use the same start for both now and my Wordle has gone from a typical 3/4 to 4/5. My opener and third both scored nil points today. A lucky guess saved me and I got it in 4. Trouble is I can't remember what it was I used to use.

I had a set of three starter words when I first started. Pause, Arise and Chear. These days I just look at the grid and enter the first 5 letter word with a couple of vowels in that comes to mind.

Yes it's easier to guess a missing vowel than it is a missing consonant.

The ones that wind me up are when there is a choice of several that will fit using untried letters and the first couple you try not only don't work but don't reveal any of the missing letters. I think many of the words set as clues have been carefully selected. By a clever sadist.
