Hello it's floydy. I tend to flit around a bit but i thought I'd track this site down and maybe give it a whirl.
How's things?
Hi Floydy
Welome You'll need to post up some jokes or do a bit of word gaming to boost your post level to see some more boards here. I set this forum to use the default editor rather than the default used by PF which some have had issues with. There are notes on using the default and how to swap in the Hints and Tips section.
Out of interest how hard was it to find us? Google hasn't blessed the site with decent ranking yet and any search just shows PF along with lots of pensioners forums that look like they were set up by councils to tick a box. I do know that one of my near final posts on PF leads right here but far from obviously so.
Hi Floydy - welcome aboard - good to see you here

Eyup!
Hi Floydy.. Good to see you flitting about..
now you can pick on him Scrumps..... and hes a Leeds fan Alex
Go git 'em Floydy.. Glad you found us..
Hi Floydy, how did a Leeds fan manage to find his way to this Premier site ? :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
By using a little lateral thinking
I had to ask too.
i do wish there was a 'like' button, Alex just slipped in a beut... LIKE Alex
There is an option but I don't like like buttons - far too Facebook for me. You are free to set up a petition asking if folks want one. Get a dozen yes votes and I'll add one.
why not use the thumbs up emoji? Same meaning
i agree Mike, but i am six messages late, it would be nice to be able to hit a thanks button on the post, but as klondike says its a lot of bother, then when u dont get a like.....lol...
Don't worry crabbyob I knew it was a cracker :yay: :yay:
Yep. Back in the day when you posted it I think even I chuckled

It's no bother at all to add one - just go into the admin account, find the right checkbox, click it and click save.
Where the problem crops up is when somebody fails to get any likes after a week of posts and gets the hump.
is this a test to see if its really me posting [1160]
Sorry but I can't interpret what that means crabbyob.
All I'm saying is that I don't like thanks or like buttons. IMO a post should be judged on whether it is liked or not by the responses to it or lack of them. If all somebody has to do is hit a button it potentially reduces replies and it's replies that keep a forum alive.
If you disagree start up a poll asking what others think. If it turns out that a majority are definitely in favour then I'll add either like or thanks buttons or even both. We have about 20 active posters and I'd count 12 votes in favour as enough unless there are a fair few no votes.
its lunchtime here
i will go and dine
but i refuse to gang up on you
it was just a thought
I don't see it as ganging up. I don't see this as my forum I just provide the platform for there to be one. In the main I try to do what folk want unless there is some good technical reason not to. As an example I know most would have been happy to stick with the old forum software but for its future health the update was necessary.

  .. People will be FLOUNCING all over the place...
thats it i'm off your playing my tune, do you happen to have an old fiddle?
I agree about not having a like button, or a dislike for that matter. It would be so much easier to just click a :check: or  instead of taking the trouble to write a reply.
:check:

It would, but I get klondike's reasoning as to how it could reduce replies to posts. If I see a post I like, such as a great photo which doesn't need an answer, a smiley 😆 or thumbs up 👍🏽 works for me.

Oops, misread your reply. Thought you were for a 'like' button. I must have been having a 'mature' interlude. Apologies.
They do work for Facebook I suppose but this place isn't Facebook. :smug:
I certainly hope not!
i think its exactly like facebook, only for a more limited group...

I was wondering that. :hmm:
I've arrived, never thought I was going to find the place.
