Title: roses,
Post by: alfred on May 06, 2022, 08:57:34 AM
Many years ago my late mother loved roses, although the garden was small what roses she had then was worth the effort as then the roses had a lovely fragrance which you could smell as you approached them,

fast forward to today , last year a wild rose suddenly appeared in my garden and i know for sure i didn't plant it, since then however in the past year it has grown quite tall and its over five feet tall with  crimson petals and with a lovely fragrance ,it looks good too,.

so i wonder could this rose have been buried deep in the garden, or was a seed dropped by a passing bird , of course its some thing which  in all probability ill never get to the bottom of , as i wonder before my house was built could the soil  originally have had wild wild roses growing in it,?? ,

Q;  have you ever had a plant suddenly appear with you having planted it

Yes, I've found bluebells at the bottom of my garden...... is that the start of a poem ?

We have bluebells in our garden too and I definitely did not plant them.  We live close to the bluebell woods and people are definitely not allowed to pick or dig up the bluebells.

Yes Alfred. Since I stopped mowing the lawns and have left the garden alone, quite a few things have popped up providing a bit of colour and added interest..
