Enthusiasts pay silly money for things. A tiny improvement in something might mean a doubling in price.

For example diamond studded platinum cases on shower pumps don't come cheap but they are so much better than the old fashioned run of the mill ruby encrusted gold cases.

Expecting a small freezer for the conservatory to be delivered. As I get older I seem more at risk of falls on icy ground - had quite a bad one a few years back. This will mean I won't need to go to the main freezers in the garage if the yard is icy

My plumber/boiler man is a friend/colleague I used to work with and he's now retiring ! Gawd knows where I'll find another one I can trust.

I only use tradesmen in the area.. I like to know that I can knock on a door  when needed.. They can't do a runner either.. And should they stitch any one up Tracey , at the Co-op , will put the word out..
I think this area is a bit expensive.. No, I am not posh..

Yep..There are certainly University lecturers re-training as plumbers and  heating engineers

The shopping centre laid me off after Christamas so I'm claiming dolenow which they allow as I'm training for the coming year. I'm still getting my dole money for the Coronation programme seller job too. Luvvly Jubbly.
